If you are someone that likes to keep in shape or simply enjoy challenging yourself, then you may have given a triathlon some thought. A triathlon is similar to many racing events except to complete the race you will need to participate in three different events. This includes running, biking and swimming. All of which can be done by anyone. However, it will require some training on your part. That’s why knowing how to train for a triathlon can be a great help. Here are a few of the basics you should know about.

Training for a triathlon isn’t easy but it doesn’t have to take you years. Before you start training, you should get your gear. It is important to have your gear while training because you will be using it on the day of your race. To start you will need swimming gear. This will include a swimsuit, goggles, and a swim cap. Now because you will be cycling during your race, you will need a bike to use while training. This doesn’t have to be an expensive bike of any kind. To train, you will need to do a combination of different workouts. This should include cardio, running, biking and swimming. Every day you will need to work on building up your stamina which you can achieve by doing a variety of different workouts in the gym. You can also try doing some practical training by taking your bike on the road. When it comes to how long you train, it depends on how long your actual race will be.
