If you think the richest people in the world enjoy living in expensive mansions, eating overpriced food, driving luxurious cars, and going on exotic holidays, you are far from wrong. They also get to eat some of the world’s most expensive chocolates. The most expensive chocolates in the world range from 100lb chocolate eggs to crystal studded squares. Some of these chocolates have sold for millions due to the inclusion of rare jewelry. Others have been crafted for one-time auctions or for select buyers, encrusted in edible gold.
Le Chocolate Box
This box was curated by Lake Forest Confections. It was sold at over 1 million dollars because of the jewelry from Simon Jewelers that is included in the package. It is considered to be one of the highest-priced chocolates to have ever sold.
Frrrozen Haute Chocolate
This was a chocolate sundae priced at $25,000 and is stated to be the world’s most expensive dessert by the Guinness Record. It was made to promote the New York restaurant Serendipity. The dessert contained a 28-cocoa blend with five ounces of edible 23-karat gold, served in a gold goblet lined with white diamonds.
Golden Speckled Chocolate Egg
This chocolate egg was considered the “most expensive non-jeweled chocolate egg,” by Guinness World Records. It was sold at an auction for $11,107. This egg weighs just over 100 pounds and is three feet tall and two inches wide.
Swarovski Studded Chocolates
This box of chocolates was priced at $10,000 and was curated by the Lebanese chocolatier Patchi and department-store-behemoth Harrods, together. This box contained 49 pieces of dark chocolate studded with Swarovski crystals and sprinkled in gold and silk rose. To add a final touch to the box’s splendor, it was wrapped in Indian silk and placed in a leather box.
