Social media, especially Instagram promotion has become such a huge part of our society recently. In fact, so much so that some businesses are offering free products to anyone who holds a certain number of followers of popular social networks.
One example is a Milan-based restaurant, which gives sushi for free to those with a significant Instagram following. The owners of the restaurant ”This Is Not A Sushibar”, Tomaso and Matteo Pittarello are aware of the strength of social networks, and feel as though free sushi is a small price to pay for potential to a whole lof of exposure.
Restaurant patrons have three payment options once the bill comes, either card, cash, or to pay in Instagram followers. The concept is actually quite simple – the more followers you have, the more sushi you can eat without paying for it.
Even those with a mere 1,000 followers on Instagram will get you some free sushi. Those with 1,000 to 5,000 followers get a free sushi plate, while those with anywhere between 5,000 to 10,0000 get two free plates.
It only continues to go up, 10,000 to 50,000 gets you four free dishes, and the most is those with over 100,000 followers who will get an entire meal for free.
Patrons also have to publish a post on their Instagram account and tag the sushi bar. They only receive their free sushi upon showing their public post.
