Mexico’s Dog Man

A very courageous and loving man, forty eight year old Edgardo Zuniga, has been travelling around Mexico on a mere tricycle, searching for injured and abandoned dogs, with the goal of rescuing them from the streets and finding them a safe home.

Over the past 5 years, he was rescued an incredibly impressive 400 dogs.  He left his home in Jalisco back in 2013 with a very clear and specific goal: to help as many dogs in need as possible.

He has made his way through fourteen Mexican states, rescuing hundreds of dogs by nursing them back to health, and then placing them into safe animal adoption centers, where they have a chance to find a good home.

For those dogs that were able to get adopted, he treated their sicknesses, fed them, and did everything he possibly could to make sure they were healthy and well before continuing on.

He travels on his tricycle together with a pack of dogs that he refers to as his rescue team, feelings as though they make his mission a whole lot easier by showing the other dogs that he can be trusted.

Here and there Edgardo takes on odd jobs in order to be able to finance his endeavour, but for the most part, he relies on the kindness and generosity of others.  Ever since a video of him went viral back in 2016 on Facebook, he has been approached by tons of people who try to help in any way that they can.
