According to Chinese media, there’s a brand new high-tech laser assault rifle. It can allegedly fire an energy beam that is completely invisible, but can cause ‘instant carbonation’ to human tissue from as far as half a mile away.

It’s known as the ZKZM-500, and was developed by Chinese scientists. It is intended to be massively produced, with the first of them to be given to the Chinese Armed Police to prevent terror.

It is also understood to be a non-lethal weapon that can be used in situations such as hostage holding ones. It could temporarily disable the criminal and would give the police time to move in.

It’s reported to be about the same size as an AK47 and is powered by a rechargeable battery, similar to those of smartphones. It can shoot up to 1,000 shots, each one lasting less than 2 seconds.

One single shot cannot kill a person, however enough shots could potentially cut a hole through a person’s body.

Many people are quite skeptical of this sci-fi technology, thinking it’s all just a propaganda scam.
