How to Stay Awake Without Caffeine

Whether you are trying to reduce your daily caffeine intake or simply dislike the bitter taste of coffee, you might be struggling to find a way to keep yourself energized throughout the day. Don’t worry, we’ve all been there. If every day at 3 pm you can be found standing in front of the coffee machine at work wondering if you really need another cup of coffee, we have some tips to keep your energy levels up without the help of caffeine.

 

Stay Hydrated

Although it might sound obvious, we sometimes forget that one of the most common reasons why we constantly feel tired is just dehydration. Keep a bottle of water next to you at all times and remind yourself to drink it throughout the day. Drinking the equivalent of six to eight glasses of water every day will definitely help cure your fatigue.

If you spend all day sitting in an office staring at a screen, your body might be in desperate need of some movement. Taking short breaks to walk around is a great way to wake yourself up without the need of ingesting caffeine. But most importantly, keeping a regular workout schedule is key to keeping your body energized and alert.

 

Power Nap

Taking a 20-minute nap is a great way to restore your energy. Although it’s important to remember sleeping longer than 20 minutes will make you feel groggy due to entering a deeper sleep phase, a short nap is enough to receive the restorative benefits of the first couple stages of sleep.
