When the temperatures go up and the days become longer, there is nothing that screams summer more than ice cream. Can’t get that hot girl summer vibe without some good old-fashioned ice cream. And what better way to celebrate summer, than to make your own homemade ice cream? Don’t have a machine? No worries, this recipe doesn’t call for one. You’ve been warned: It’s so delicious you might never go back to store-bought.
All you need are two ingredients (!) for your base and from there you can create any flavor you can possibly think of: 2 cups of cold whipping cream and one can of cold, sweetened condensed milk. Then, beat the cold cream in a stand or hand mixer until stiff peaks form, turn down the speed a little and pour the condensed milk into the whipped cream (if you want, you can add vanilla extract). Turn the speed back up high again and whisk until the mixture is thick and has stiff peaks.
That is your base. Now you can add literally anything you want! Want to make chocolate ice cream? Melt in some warm chocolate and mix it in. Want to make mint chocolate chip? Add some chocolate chips and add some mint or peppermint flavor. Go wild and add some food coloring to make it look fancy. Add crumbled Oreos and some cream cheese for a chocolate cheesecake-inspired ice cream. The possibilities are truly endless. Just make sure that after adding your flavor to place the ice cream in the freezer for a few hours and then bon appetit!
