The future of virtual reality is looking bright, with technology making incredible advances over the past few years, and with headsets becoming more and more affordable.
However, not all of them are quite so affordable, especially when it comes to the best and latest version out there. It’s the XTAL headset by Prague based VR startup VRgineers, and costs a whopping $5,800.
Although there was talk about this earlier on, a new and updated version is about to make it’s grand debut at the world’s largest tech show, the Consumer Electronics Show this upcoming January.
So what’s so special about it? Well, first of all, it’s got two Quad HD resolution organic LED displays, as well as a rather impressive 180 degree field of view. The company promises that the VR has no blurring due to the special field of view, which tends to be a common issue with many VR headsets.
Users will also be able to track their hands while wearing the VR headset due to Leap Motion sensors that are also a part of the system.
With such a large price, clearly their target audience is not your average joe. They are targeting mostly towards a more professional audience, such as engineers and automotive designers.
