There are certain people in this world who truly have a heart of pure gold. As they continue to thrive in their own lives they also ensure to support the ones in need around them. Shirley Raines is a beautician who is based out of Los Angeles, California.

Living there for quite some time she has noticed the socioeconomic issue in the area. With that being said, she decided to start a non-profit organization called Beauty 2 The Streetz that helps homeless people stay beautiful and confident all at the same time.

In order to follow through with her mission, Raines and her team go to Skid Row, one of the areas in Los Angeles with the largest homeless population. Each week she provides “food, showers, hair wash and color, make-up, wigs and, most importantly, human connection and a sense of belonging,” according to Bored Panda.com.

Raines is a huge believer in a little can go a long way. Even though a hair cut seems so simple, it could be the one thing that makes the greatest difference in a person’s life and mentality. Sometimes all people need is a little confidence boost to allow them to shine in other areas and thanks to Raines, she has done just that.
