Astro Live Experiences, a Japanese company has decided that they will launch a satellite that will generate the very first ever artificial meteor shower.
The satellite is an experimental prototype that Astro Live Experiences hopes will assist them in the preparation of it’s Sky Canvas show, which is set to take place in 2020 nearby to the city of Hiroshima.
The satellite is loaded with thousands upon thousands of small, centimeter wide pellets, that are set to catch fire as they make their way through the sky, leaving glowing trails that look just like shooting stars.
Each of the pellets will disintegrate by fire upon entering the atmosphere, and from the ground it will appear to look similar to a shooting star, however it will last longer than the real ones and will burn even brighter.
Whether you’re on a romantic evening and star gazing together, or a young and hopeful kid making a wish on a shooting star, there truly are few things more beautiful than seeing the night sky all light up.
