We’re all still trying to explain to our grandparents what blockchain is. At the same time, crypto technologies are constantly improving, taking all of reality and eating it up at an overwhelming pace.
From blockchain smartphones, to collectible JPGs of puppies that can be bought with bitcoin, there’s no shortage of crypto technology taking over.
This innovative technology can be used for good too, such as getting funds for needy causes. And now, it’s bringing beer to our doorsteps. It’s quite the needy cause if you ask us.
Civic, a San-Fransisco startup has released their plans for the first crypto beer vending machine. You know, since picking up a six pack at the local store just isn’t innovative enough.
It’s goal is to prove that blockchain could eventually identify who is really over the age of 21. It’s simple, just install their app on your smartphone, verify your ID, and you’re set.
The only problem? Governments need to agree to tie national ID verification methods to a blockchain. It could also be rather insecure.
For now, the vending machine is only a prototype to bring in investors, however it will be dispensing up to 600 daily beers at CoinDesk’s Summit.
