California’s Electric Buses

California has officially become the first state to make it a requirement that all new homes would need to use solar energy instead of electricity.  And now, they have plans to take things even further when it comes to reducing emissions.

The plan is that by the year 2029, public transit vehicles in the entire state of California will be entirely electric.  This new rule has been made by the California Air Resources Board, which has been dedicated to ensuring that air quality will be as healthy as possible since 1967.

Not only will this significantly reduce pollution, but it will also provide dramatic savings on gasoline costs.  Although the process has only begun, there are already 150 buses in the state that have already switched to electric.

The remaining 12,000 still have 10 years to transition, in order to make California a quieter place with cleaner air.
