Breakfast Dishes From Around The World

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day! This article shows what people across the world, from various countries, eat for breakfast. In Turkey, the most popular breakfast meal is called Kahvalti. It is a traditional meal, made using bread, cheese, olives, tomatoes, cucumbers, spicy, Turkish sausages, jams and honey! The Turkish prefer this exquisite breakfast spread to get them geared for the day. In Costa Rica, breakfast consists of rice and beans, with a side of eggs. The dish is called Gallo pinto, consisting of stir-fried rice and beans cooked with red pepper, cilantro, and onion, along with the country’s signature sauce called Salsa Lizano.

If you do not wish to serve it with a side of eggs, you can serve it along with avocado, plantains, or cheese! In Switzerland, breakfast consists of a meal prepared using milk or yogurt, fresh fruit, along with tea or coffee. The dish is called muesli, prepared using raw rolled oats that are soaked in fruit juice or water overnight. They are then mixed with other grains, and fresh or dried fruits, seeds, and nuts! This classic diet, which is popular around the world today, did in fact originate from Switzerland! In Malaysia, breakfast is not so simple. There are plenty of options, drawn from their multi-ethnic origins.

However, the most popular way breakfast spread is called nasi lemak. It is served on a banana leaf. While the dish- nasi lemak- itself consists of sweet coconut rice, garnished with cucumbers, roasted peanuts, hard-boiled eggs, and their signature local hot sauce! In Scandinavian countries, breakfast usually consists of open faced sandwiches. Breads are loaded with fish, cold cuts, cheeses, vegetables, or hard-boiled eggs. You can unleash your creative side for breakfast, preparing interesting variations for your sandwiches.
