A Savage Scam

We’ve heard of all kinds of crazy scams before, but this one is surely a first. Ryan Sentelle, a thirty-seven-year-old man from Utah has admitted to charges against him.

What are these charges exactly?

Well, that he purposely released rodents in (at least) three hotels on separate occasions in order to skip the bill at the end of his stay. Not too shabby.

According to reports from the authorities, Sentelle would check into hotel rooms and then sneak the rodents (both hamsters and mice) into the room himself. After releasing them in the room, he would call the hotel staff to file a horrific complaint, and then, of course, request to get the room free of charge.

Somehow, his plan worked on several occasions, and it’s believed that he’s actually managed to do so more than just three times.

How exactly he was caught once and for all remains untold so far, but he has in fact admitted to the crime and is now facing five charges, including three counts of criminal mischief, and two of theft by deception.

Needless to say, don’t try this at home.
